Using Essential Oils
Here are some of the most common ways of using essential oils and blends:
Inhalation: The simplest way to enjoy the many benefits of an essential oils and blends is by inhaling its scents. Simply carry the bottle of your favorite EO or blend and take a sniff when you need to.
Diffusers: Another common way to use essential oils in the home is by diffusing them. You can add 3-5 drops of an essential oil or blend to a diffuser, and enjoy the aroma. We suggest using cool air nebulizing diffusers, because heat-based diffusers can degrade the oil. Nebulizing essential oil diffusers provide the best aromatherapy and therapeutic value of nature's pure plants.
Steam inhalation: This is a great way to treat headaches, relieve congestion, and open nasal passages during a cold or flu. Just add 2-5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Now, cover your head with a towel and keep it over the bowl. Inhale the vapors. Essential oils of peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary are excellent for steal inhalation.
Massage: You can also enjoy a relaxing massage by mixing essential oils or blends with a carrier oil like coconut, olive or almond. Simply mix a drop or two of the essential oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil and use it for massage purposes.

Bath: Another way to enjoy essential oils is by adding them to your bath time routine. You can create several bath salts by using different types of essential oils and blends. Take 3 cups of bath salts (sea salt, Epsom salt) and add 15- 20 drops of your favorite essential oils. Some options are rose, ylang ylang, lavender, bergamot, or peppermint. You can add a tablespoon of coconut, almond or jojoba oil to make it more moisturizing. Use half a cup in your bath water and enjoy a relaxing soak.
Some more ways to use essential oils:
Skin care: You can add a 6-10 drops per 30 ml or gm of face cream, lotion, or oil and use as usual. Remember, different essential have different benefits so just use the one best suited for your skin and condition. Besides this, you can also make your own skin care products using simple essential oil recipes.
Hair care: Essential oils like rosemary and ylang ylang are excellent for hair. You can add these to your daily shampoo and conditioner and enjoy the many benefits it has to offer. You can go with 12 drops essential oil per fluid ounce.
